After 5 long years of battling leukemia, Bradley's wish of coming face to face with animals of the world finally came true. During his years of undergoing treatment, doctors advised that Bradley should not be near animals to help decrease his risk of infection. This was extremely difficult for the animal loving family, especially Bradley.
On January 27th, after conquering his fight with cancer and with the support of Sports Pro Camps, 8 year-old Bradley and his family boarded a plane to the San Diego Zoo, where Bradley wished to have an animal experience! As soon as they boarded the flight, the ground crew of Delta Airlines invited Bradley and his older brother, Philip, to sit in the cockpit.
“This was a dream come true not only for Brad but for his brother Philip, the unsung hero of our family, whose passion is aviation,” exclaimed Wish Mom Fran.
When Bradley arrived to the San Diego Zoo, he was greeted by a zookeeper of the park and was issued his very own badge! The zookeeper escorted Bradley and his family on a private tour, where he got to see lions, wolves and tigers close up.
Bradley enjoyed a safari ride through the park where he saw animals roaming the fields of the zoo such as giraffes, rhinos and cheetahs. He also had the opportunity to prepare meals for the elephants and giraffes. Bradley's favorite part was getting to feed Jirra, the kangaroo and learning they can only hop forward!
“These past 5 years while Bradley was battling cancer, our family had to divide and conquer. Bradley’s wish brought us back together.”
A tremendous thank you to our friends from Sports Pro Camps who rallied together to make Bradley's wish a reality! Special thanks to Delta Airlines, the San Diego Zoo and Make-A-Wish® San Diego for helping us go above and beyond Bradley’s expectations.
