February is Disney Compassion Month

A wish child meets Mickey Mouse!
The steadfast support Disney provides to Make-A-Wish® dates back to the first official wish kid, Frank “Bopsy” Salazar, whose wish was granted in 1981. In 2015, Disney and Make-A-Wish will grant its 100,000th global wish together. Last year, more than 7,000 wishes involved Disney’s help, and every year, Disney continues to enrich the lives of wish kids around the world by bringing them hope, strength and joy.

The timeless bonds and memories Disney has created have helped kids through treatments, helped them overcome doubts and despair, and helped them feel and get better – because wishes work wonders.

  • Born with a congenital heart disease, wish kid Randy connected with Southwest Airlines after noticing the hearts on their planes. ❤️ 💛 💙 He wished to spend time with the planes and the people that make them fly, so he wished to be a mechanic for Southwest Airlines! ✈️👨‍🔧 During his wish day, Randy and his new friends checked tire pressure, fixed seat belts and more to ensure all the Southwest planes were in tip top shape before taking off for their intended destinations. Thanks to travel partners like Southwest Airlines for granting life-changing wishes like Randy’s!
