Bay Shore, New York – On Wednesday, December 18, family and friends will surprise Paula and celebrate her wish to have a bedroom makeover!
Paula, 9, of Bay Shore is in the midst of battling leukemia. Paula’s wish is being granted by Make-A-Wish® through Blue Bunny Ice Cream’s 100 Years, 100 Wishes program.
Paula loves everything related to princesses, her favorite things to do are to play dress-up and watch princess movies, making her princess-themed bedroom makeover the perfect wish come true. Paula was set to have her wish granted and enjoy a Blue Bunny ice cream social in October when her health declined and her doctor advised that her wish be postponed. She patiently anticipated work to begin on her new room. She is now doing much better and is excited to enjoy the comforts of her own space.
After Paula leaves for school, a team of volunteers will arrive and give her room a complete makeover, including her own princess carriage bed. Paula will be surprised when her family and a Make-A-Wish team arrive to pick her up from school. She will then travel by limo to a special spa where she will be pampered like a princess. Her friends and family will greet her as she returns home to celebrate her wish come true.
Everyone will enjoy Paula’s favorite flavors of Blue Bunny ice cream as they share in her joy.
Paula’s wish is part of a national effort by Wells, makers of Blue Bunny Ice Cream, to help Make-A-Wish grant 100 wishes in honor of Wells’ centennial year. It’s Wells’ 100th birthday wish come true that 100 kids with life-threatening medical conditions have their wishes granted. Dozens of 100 Years, 100 Wishes wish granting events are taking place across the country, each celebrated and captured on 100Years100Wishes.com.
Join the celebration and lend support to the 100 wish kids by signing the Wish Card at 100Years100Wishes.com. The collection of signatures and messages will be delivered to each of the 100 wish kids in October 2013 in celebration of Wells’ 100th birthday on October 24, 2013.
